The latest issue of the CIAA’s Data and Trends Brochure contains the key statistics providing a panorama of the food and drink sector, covering the years 2001 to 2003. It contributes to a better knowledge of this sector across the EU and in the individual Member States.

The brochure addresses is divided in two parts: the structure of the food and drink industry and the market and consumption. Subjects as the place of the EU food and drink sector in the manufacturing industry, the growth of this industry, the role of small and medium sized companies, the leading food companies in Europe and in the world are also arised.

The data presented in this booklet covers the whole food and drink industry (as defined in division 15 of the EU activity breakdown). They are a compilation of indicators taken from Eurostat databases ((europa.eu.int/comm/eurostat) as well as those received from National Federations and companies which are members of CIAA. Other sources such as WTO have also been used.
